Jan Borák, born in 1912, lived a colorful life full of twists and turns. He came from poor circumstances, but despite this, he built a career as a merchant and later as the head of the road administration. After joining the JZD, he had to face hard times and work in menial positions. Despite the difficulties, he became the mayor of the village of Suchá Loz and later a successful businessman.

Jan Borák was born on June 21, 1912, into a modest farming family of Marie and Ignác Borák. Despite poverty, he managed to build a varied and fulfilling career. He started as a cloth merchant, which he sold directly from his home. Later, he held the position of head of the road administration. Jan had six siblings: Karel, Alžběta, Josef, Jindřich, Ignác and Antonín. In 1937, he married Marie Horňáková and they had four children together: Zdeněk, Eva, Libuša and Mirek.

Hard times came with the advent of the collective farm. Jan Borák had to undergo menial work and night shifts on the "Pod Lesem" grain belt. In difficult conditions, he manually cut grain with a scythe and bravely endured all the hardships.

After hardships in the collective farm, he became the mayor of the village of Suchá Loz. He then ran shops in Vyškov, Komně and Bánov. But he always put his family first. People remember him fondly as a kind-hearted and modest man who was always willing to help.

He treated everyone with kindness and respect, whether rich or poor.

Jan Borák died on January 20, 1976, at the age of 63. He left a deep mark on the hearts of his family and all who knew him. His life story is an inspiring example of perseverance, kindness, and dedication.
